The interleaving method: why mixing topics works

When you study one topic until you feel you understand it, then move to the next, it feels efficient. Research consistently shows it is not. Interleaving (switching between topics or problem types before each feels fully mastered) produces better long-term retention even though it feels harder in the moment.
